Quality Assurance and Quality Control

Quality Assurance (QA) is the overall program to ensure that the final results reported are correct. The aim of quality control (QC) is to ensure that the results generated are correct.

However, quality assurance is concerned with much more – that the right test is carried out on the right patient, and that the right result and right interpretation is delivered to the right person at the right time!

Excellent quality control measures and regular calibration checks are integral to check the accuracy and precision of the spirometer.

Quality control (QC) refers to the measures that must be undertaken to verify that the devise is working properly. Attention to equipment quality control and calibration is an important part of good laboratory practice.
