Patterns of health-care use and comorbidities present in patients in the period before diagnosis of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are unknown. We investigated these factors to inform future case-finding strategies.

Fixing the COPD register (Project ONE of TWO)
This is the first of two projects, with the aim to review the COPD register and ensure all patients have an accurate diagnosis of COPD.
Data collected from GP practices across Wales suggest that only 11.5% patients on the COPD registers have evidence to support their diagnosis of COPD.
This QI project is aimed at primary care teams who have a register of COPD patients.
The COPD Diagnostic Review (Project TWO of TWO)
This is the second of two projects, which involves inviting a patient in for a review of their COPD diagnosis and coding them correctly.
